,Welcome on our specially curated Textile and Cultural pilgrimage as we introduce you to some of India's most vibrant textile traditions in breathtaking places.
From our village artisans you will have the opportunity to learn through a series of workshops and demonstration, the time honoured practices of woodblock, indigo, mud resist dyeing and block print, hand loom weaving and spinning.
You will stay in beautiful boutique Haveli's, visit museums, temples villages and old markets.We will also celebrate the festival of light, Diwali
ITINERARY

DAY 1 - AHMEDABAD
PROGRAM: Arrive AHMEDABAD - Meet and Greet at Ahmedabad airport for pick and transfer to Haveli home stay.
ACCOM: Traditional Haveli style accommodation. -
Day 2 - OCT 15 AHMEDABAD
PROGRAM: 9.30 am morning visit to India's premiere textile museum, The Calico Museum. Followed by a studio visit to Ajit Kumar Das, resident natural dye artist, demonstrating his dyeing processes and techniques. In the afternoon we will visit local bazaars and market of the old city, then back to the Haveli.

DAY 3 - OCT 16 PATALA, BHUJ
PROGRAM: 7am early departure for Bhuj, Kutch. Stopping at Dasada, visiting the sun temple and Patala. home of the famous hand loomed patola silk saris. Here you'll visit the workshop of the Salvis to view their work on the patola, one of the richest silk textiles in the world, woven using the rare double-ikat technique
Arrive Bhuj to your accomodation. -
DAY 4 - OCT 17 BHUJ
PROGRAM:WORKSHOP Ajrakh Printing
9.30 we travel to our first workshop in Ajrakh block resist printing. This is hundred year old tradition using block resist and dyeing techniques. All materials supplied. Followed by a city tour to local handcrafts markets and non profit organisations. -
DAY 5 - OCT 18 BHUJ
PROGRAM:WORKSHOP Bandhani Tie Dye
Today We learn the intricate technique of Bandhani, a traditional Indian resist dyeing technique, where fabric is tied with thread in various patterns before dyeing, resulting in unique dot patterns
Afterwards we visit local handcraft centres and the old markets of Bhuj. -
DAY 6 - OCT 19 BHUJ
PROGRAM: 9.30 start. We travel through nomadic grassland villages to visit handloom spinning and weaving artists including local women demonstrating the art of Banjari mirror embroidery. Walk on the salt marshes of the Thar desert and the Rann of Kutch which was once part of the Arabian sea.

DAY 7 - OCT 20 BHUJ to UDAIPUR
PROGRAM: 6:30am start. We travel to Western Rajasthan to the lake city of Udaipur, known as the Venice of
the East, nestled on the shores of Lake Pichola. A place of lavish royal palaces, art galleries, and famous for its spectacular Diwali lights. Enjoy a night tour of Udaipur’s
sparkling Diwali lights.. -
DAY 8 - OCT 21
PROGRAM: A DAY in UDAIPUR
6:30am A day of garden and city walks and bus trip for lunch at the original Marigold Hotel. Enjoy a free afternoon to relax or shop in the local bazaars, walk through the old village markets or take a Lake Tour. Night tour of old city and lights of Diwali -
Day 9 - OCT 22
PROGRAM: UDAIPUR TO JAIPUR
6:30am: Depart Udaipur for early departure to the world heritage listed Pink City of Jaipur a journey which will take you through the villages of Rajasthan. City tour of the festival lights of Diwali -
Day 10 - OCT 23
PROGRAM: JAIPUR WORKSHOP Indigo Dyeing
9.30am Spend the day with the Indigo masters, learning techniques is block and mud resist dyes All materials supplied, workshop length approx 6 hours -
Day 11 - OCT 24
PROGRAM: CITY TOUR, ANOKHI TEXTILE MUSEUM, STEPWELL
9:30am: Tour of the old city followed by a tour of the Anokhi Museum and Stepwell, passing iconic sites of Amber Fort and Lake Palace, enjoy a day of shopping, old city markets and delicious lunch. -
Day 12 - OCT 25
PROGRAM: BAGRU WORKSHOP Blockprinting
9am: Spend a fascinating day in the nearby village of Bagru for a workshop of plant and mud dye block and resist wood block dyeing. All materials supplied, workshop length approx 6 hour -
Day 13 - OCT 26 JAIPUR
PROGRAM: VISIT KHANOOM POTTERY STUDIO - NILA HOUSE
9:30am A morning tour to Khanoom pottery studio, for pottery demonstrations of various ceramic traditions. Lunch then to Nila House for shopping and a textile tour. -
Day 14 - OCT 27
PROGRAM: JAIPUR TO MANDAWA
9am: In the heart of Shekhawati, Rajasthan lies the often described open air art gallery and museum village of Mandawa, best known for its forts, hand painted frescos and beautiful Haveli’s. -
Day 15- OCT 28
PROGRAM: MANDAWA TO DEHLI
9:30am Travel to Delhi and stay one night ready for return flight. Final sightseeing and shared group farewell dinner in preparation for departure. -
Day 16- OCT 29
PROGRAM: FAREWELL - DELHI RETURN FLIGHTS TO AUSTRALIA
We will drop you at Delhi Airport for your return to Australia. Farewell and bon voyage!
